Certification
Frequently Asked Questions.
Claris' approach to certification.
We offer multiple certifications aligned with the capabilities of our platform and complementary to the diverse skills of our developers. Certifications are available for developing apps with Claris FileMaker Pro, administering Claris FileMaker Server, and integrating apps using Claris Connect. Visit Claris Academy for an up-to-date catalog.
Each certification is supported by a focused Claris Academy course, including a graded assessment. When you complete the assessment with a passing score, you earn a verified digital badge that can be shared publicly using Credly. You can take the assessment with or without consuming the course material – depending on your experience level.
We regularly add certifications. The Claris marketing backlog shows the certifications we are working on and have planned for the next few quarters.
No, we retired this exam and certificate at the end of 2023. The App Developer for Claris FileMaker Pro and Claris FileMaker Server Administrator courses cover the same material and development skills. Earning all three levels – Associate, Specialist, and Expert – of those two series demonstrates similar knowledge of Claris FileMaker.
No, with this transition, your current certification does not expire, and you do not need to retake the exam to maintain it. You were issued a digital badge through Credly recognizing this achievement and your skills with Claris FileMaker (up to version 19). We encourage you to accept and share your new badge wherever you wish.
To date, Claris offers certification in English or Japanese. Opportunities for certification with content available in Japanese will begin in late 2024.
